If you live here, you already know something shifted this spring. Espresso closed after decades at 2 Main. The Corner Bar went dark. Fresno's owner started showing up at 29 Main in work boots. What looks from the outside like a Hamptons "restaurant shuffle" reads differently from a Sag Harbor porch. This is not new capital arriving. This is the village handing its Main Street back to the people who grew up on it.
That is the thread worth pulling this summer. Because every substantive change on the commercial spine of the village in 2026 has one thing in common: the operators are local, and in several cases they are second and third generation. The exceptions are two, and they sit outside the food scene entirely.

The Corner Bar sat empty through the winter after closing under previous ownership. Taking over is John and Kelly Piccinnini, the husband and wife team already running The Clam Bar and the new Sett Coffee, both in Amagansett.
